Apollo Pythian
June ’22

The most worshipped of the 12 gods of ancient Greece, handsome Pythian Apollo was the patron of light, youth and masculine beauty. 120-140 AD Roman copy of the lost bronze original was rediscovered in Italy in the late 15th century. Layers of slate milk paint create the effect of marble with an age patina in the low points. Protected with antiquing wax, this small bust is ideal to stand on a table or a secretary.
